Cars & Bikes & etc...
Sports cars, racing cars, and motorcycles have been a bit of an obsession for me. Any fast machines really. I went to engineering school hoping to design race cars or figher jets when I graduated, but it didn't really work out that way.
Planes
My sister was lucky enough to go up in a jet fighter in 2002 and she got to experience some serious aerobatics at high g's. There's another page with some old shots of vintage fighter planes from WWI to Vietnam from Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ. My favorite plane was the infamous SR-71 Blackbird. Motorcycles
I have a page with pictures of the motorcycles I've owned. I sold my last motorcycle in 1999. I don't own a bike now but I do get to go out on brother-in-laws CBR 900RR when I visit the family in Arizona.
Cars
We like cars especially exotic sports cars. I drove a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder until it fell apart and I had to rebuild the engine twice. After that fiasco I was lucky enough to replace it with a 2001 Acura NSX as my daily driver..

The founder of Lotus, Colin Chapman, was one of my inspirations for becoming a mechanical engineer. I always wanted to design race cars and cool road cars like he did. We test drove a Lotus 7 kit car in 2000 and I'd still love to build one. Here are some Lotus links. |

When I was younger the 911 was my favorite car. You didn't see them often back in New York. Now that we live in California I see Porsches every day, what a difference. As much as I enjoyed reading about the development of their race cars the sound of their engines just doesn't seem as exotic as the other cars on this page. |
